"The Law given from Sinai [The Ten Commandments] was a civil and municipal as well as a moral and religious code." John Quincy Adams. Letters to his son. p. 61
Farewell Address: "The name of American, which belongs to you, in your national capacity, must always exalt the just pride of Patriotism, more than any appellation derived from local discriminations. With slight shades of difference, you have the same religion" ...and later: "...reason and experience both forbid us to expect, that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle..." George Washington

God Within Our Borders...An American Tradition!

Hello and welcome to MissionEmily.com. My name is Emily Boubin, and I'm 15 years old.
This project began when I was talking with one of the 7th grade teachers. He stated that we could no longer have a school-sponsored or teacher-led religious club in our school even though it was open to students of all faiths. After that conversation, my parents and I discussed a lot about different restrictions being placed on religious freedom from not being allowed to have nativity scenes, mentioning Christmas in school, removing 'under God' from the Pledge of Allegiance, and eliminating the Ten Commandments from courthouses, parks, etc. The greatest injustice is the censoring of students from mentioning God in graduation and other speeches. God is under attack in the United States!
God is a very meaningful presence in our lives, and we believe there are many wonderful lessons from the Bible whether you believe in God or not. These are lessons that make all of us better human beings. We also respect and pray for those who do not believe in God.
The tradition of mentioning God in the United States government is in no way forcing people to practice a certain faith or restricting a person's expression of religion or non-religion. It is only a reflection of the role God played in the lives of the founders of this great nation as well as the principles that were the foundation of our country. People are certainly free to worship and pray to their God or to not worship or pray.
Our T-shirts make religious statements that are directed toward those groups which are trying to create a secular society by taking God out of buildings and phrases. We hope that we create a movement by getting people to wear these T-shirts to show such groups that although they may win small victories, our faith is deeper, and their actions are only making us feel more passionate about our faith.
Our belief in God will withstand their challenges. In addition, we will be donating one dollar from the sale of every shirt to the Alliance Defense Fund which takes cases in which religion is under attack. Thank you for your support and prayers!!!!

"It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible." George Washington
"We've staked the whole future of American civilization not on the power of government, far from it. We have staked the future...upon the capacity of each and all to govern ourselves, to control our-selves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God. The future and success of America is not in this Constitution, but in the laws of God upon which this Constitution is founded." James Madison
"We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion..." John Adams
"We've staked our future on our ability to follow the Ten Commandments with all of our heart." James Madison
